Lakes Course Open | Cart Rules Enforced
DO YOU SEE THE GREEN AT THE LAKES?
No, the well is not up and running yet, but David has been able to pull a little more water from the lakes for the overseeded tees, range tees, green surrounds and the fairways. With the continued use of 2 water trucks and 2 city hydrants, along with the HOAs reducing their water use as their overseed need reduces, he has been able to better manage the water usage between the two straws so everyone gets a drink of water.
And those green fairways? It is TURF PAINT! It dries in an hour and then is good to go with watering and playing (no green shoes). This is a popular method of greening up facilities for that spectacular look. The TPC Waste Management Tournament and the Cardinals Stadium use this method routinely and most people never know. So not only will you get that long run down the fairways, your eyes will be fooled to think it is rolling on real grass.
Friday we are opening the Lakes Course for the Couples (18/9). David and Brandon are limiting play at the Lakes just enough to give the Vistas a break from the heavy play.
ALL Golf Carts must be on the Cart Paths within 30 YARDS (90 feet) of all tee-boxes and greens at the Lakes Course. This includes handicap flags as we are opening early and need this grass to mature.
VERY IMPORTANT!!!! MUST STAY ON THE CART-PATHS AT THE TEE BOXES AND THE GREENS!!!!!
This is true for both courses, but even more so at the Lakes as we are getting traffic out earlier than usual after an overseed. There are no cart restrictions on the fairway.
We are going to get tough and enforce the cart rule this year. It is for the longevity of beautiful grounds and great playability of our great courses.
TEE BOX: STAY ON THE CART PATH AND WALK TO THE TEES!
GREENS: STAY ON THE CART PATH AS YOU APPROACH THE GREENS AND WALK UP TO THE GREEN!
ALL Golf Carts must be on the Cart Paths within 30 YARDS (90 feet) of all tee-boxes and greens at the Lakes Course. This includes handicap flags as we are opening early and need this grass to mature.
Handicap Flags may drive up to 10 Yards (30 feet) [No Closer] from tee boxes and greens at the VISTAS COURSE ONLY.
You will be warned once. If the behavior repeats itself, you will be asked to leave the course. Please don’t give the staff a hard time about it, they are doing as instructed. The Board is in complete agreement with this action and expects everyone to comply.
We are waiting for the 14 inch perforated liner to arrive. Once it does and we begin to put everything in place, we will keep you informed of the progress. If all goes well (pun intended) our well will be filling our lakes before THANKSGIVING. Won’t that be something to be grateful for!
Thanks again to ALL our members who understand some things cannot be controlled. We appreciate the great attitudes and assistance you have given the staff as they continue to make Westbrook Village Golf Club the “best value and best golf experience” in the West Valley.
