Given the unusually high temperatures expected to persist through early October, with forecasts nearing 110°F this week, we have made the decision to postpone overseeding by one week. These excessive heat conditions are not conducive to successful overseeding, as the combination of intense heat and increased irrigation strengthens the Bermuda grass, which ultimately hinders the establishment of the newly seeded winter ryegrass.

By adjusting our schedule, we aim to overseed when temperatures are more favorable, allowing the Bermuda grass to stay dormant during the seeding and ensure a healthier establishment of the winter seed. This careful timing is critical to providing you with the best possible playing conditions over the winter months.

With this change, the Vistas Course will now be closed for overseeding from October 7 through October 25. The Lakes Course will remain closed from October 14 through October 25, resulting in both courses being closed for the 12-day period between October 14 and October 25. Additionally, the Vistas Course will be closed for overseed preparation on October 2.

However, with the schedule adjustment, we are pleased to inform you that the Vistas Course will now be open on September 30 - October 1 and from October 3 through October 6.
