More Information than your Eyes Can Handle

Morning Format of Play

The morning event is an 18-hole flighted competition, with flights determined by each team's cumulative handicap. Teams consist of five members, with a requirement that each team includes at least one male and one female.

  • Holes 1–18:

    • Three designated team members will participate in a 3-Person Scramble.
    • The remaining two "non-marked" players will compete in a 2-Person NET Better Ball format.
    • The team score for each hole will be the sum of the Scramble and NET Better Ball scores.

Game Formats

  • Best-Ball: Each player plays their own ball from tee to hole. The team score is the lowest net score among the players.
  • Scramble: Each player tees off, the team selects the best shot, and all players hit from that location. This process repeats until the ball is holed out.

Tees & Handicap

  • To maintain pace of play, men will play from the white tees, and women will play from the red tees.
  • The maximum course handicap is 36 for men and 40 for women.
  • Team handicap is 18% A + 15% B + 12% C + 10% D + 7% E rounded to the Hundredth.

Afternoon Horse Race Information

The top six teams from each flight will qualify for the Flighted Horse Races.

  • Order of Play:
    • Team members will play in the order submitted prior to the start of the Horse Race.
    • The order does not need to follow handicap order (e.g., Player A, Player B, etc.).
    • Teams may choose any order they prefer.
  • Elimination Process:
    • The first two holes will eliminate one team per hole.
    • The third hole will eliminate two teams, leaving the final two teams.
    • In the finals, two teams will be eliminated on each hole until a winner is determined.
  • Marking & Tee-Off:
    • All teams must mark a ball with their team number.
    • Teams will tee off in numerical order as assigned.

Format: 5-Person Alternate Shot

  • Teams will play a straight alternate shot format until the ball is holed.
  • Tee Shots:
    • Player 1 tees off on Hole 1.
    • Player 2 tees off on Hole 2.
    • Player 3 tees off on Hole 3, and so on.
    • The rotation continues into the finals, with Player 4 teeing off on the first hole of the finals.
    • Player 5 tees off on the 2nd holes of the Finals.
    • Player 1 tees off on the 3rd holes of the Finals.
    • Straight alternate shot is followed through any playoff.
  • Gameplay & Scoring:
    • After all teams have teed off, the team furthest from the hole will play next.
    • No player may hit until the official gives the signal.
    • Teams must call out their final score so the official can record it on the scorer’s sheet.

Tiebreakers & Chip-Off Rules

  • Ties at the end of a hole will be decided by a chip-off.
  • Each team will select one designated chipper to compete.
  • The closest shot to the hole wins, even if it lands off the green.
  • Chipping contestants must turn their backs and CANNOT watch their opponents' shots.
  • Pending contestants must not turn around until the ball has been measured or marked.
  • No coaching or relayed information is allowed between teammates and chippers.
  • Final Hole (18) Tie:
    • The hole will be replayed once. Player following who made the last putt will tee off.
    • If a tie remains after the replay, a chip-off will determine the winner.
    • Each team’s designated chipper will take the shot.
