Vistas Course & Overseed Progress
As for the Vistas Course, now approaching two weeks into the overseed process, our main concern is avoiding heavy rainfall that could cause runoff through from the surrounding development. Overall, the overseed is coming along very well. Light rains are actually beneficial, helping deliver atmospheric nutrients into the soil. However, it’s important to remember that this is new grass with shallow root systems. Excessive rain, standing water, or runoff could damage certain areas, lets just hope for a constant drizzle.
Many courses throughout the Valley aren’t as lucky; several just dropped their seed this week, and germination hasn’t yet begun. October overseeding can be unpredictable, last year was too hot, and this year is too wet. Maybe we’re asking a bit too much of Mother Nature!
