Well Site Selection Summary
Westbrook Golf Club is planning the installation of a new irrigation well to help ensure a reliable and sustainable water supply for the golf course. Arizona regulations require the new well to be located within 660 feet of the existing well, which limited the areas that could be considered.

To assist with the project, the Well Committee engaged Clear Creek Associates, an engineering firm specializing in water resources, to provide technical guidance, design support, and permit assistance. Our long-time well service provider, Empire Pump, was also consulted during the review process.

Site Evaluation Process
Committee members worked with the engineers to identify potential locations that met regulatory and engineering requirements. After reviewing the course and surrounding infrastructure, three potential sites were identified:

Site A: Between Hole #7 Green and Hole #6 Red Tee
Site B: Near Hole #6 Black Tee
Site C: Between Hole #6 White Tee and the south perimeter wall

Each location was carefully evaluated using a structured decision matrix that considered multiple factors, including:

Construction feasibility and equipment access
Impact on golf course play
Proximity to utilities and irrigation connections
Long-term maintenance considerations
Overall site suitability

Construction Overview
During drilling, a temporary area of approximately 40 ft × 40 ft will be required for equipment and sound-abatement walls. Once construction is complete, the permanent well enclosure will occupy roughly 12 ft × 20 ft, surrounded by a 6-foot privacy wall and gates.

Board Recommendation
After completing the engineering review and scoring all locations in the decision matrix, Site C received the highest overall rating as the preferred location for the new well. This location best balances construction feasibility, operational efficiency, and minimal impact on the golf course and surrounding community. The WBGC board approved the committee’s recommended location at its March 18^th board meeting. (The approximate location of the well is marked with a green stake that can be found to the south of the Hole #6 White tee.)
