We have hired Michael “Mike” Frye as our PGA Director of Instruction. He starts Friday, November 15th.

Mike brings much to the Club with his extensive PGA background, passion for development/teaching and thorough knowledge with Golf Software and Technology. His main focus will be constructing a development/lesson/clinics program for the club and surrounding area. However, he is going to be a hybrid employee working in the golf shop during high demand periods (cross-overs, shotguns and events), assisting with tournament operations, assisting with club communications, and assisting with club software.

Mike has a launch monitor for those who want numbers and he has brought his lesson platform to the club which has now been integrated into our members web page for easy booking. Anyone interested in booking a lesson with Mike, may login to the members web page and go to Lessons on the left menu, pick your lesson type, date and time and he will be there to help you improve your game.

Biography:

Mike has been a PGA member since 2009. Originally from Montana, Mike graduated from Culbertson High School in 2004 where he won three individual high school state championships as well as the Montana State Junior Tournament in 2003.  As a junior golfer, Michael also competed in the Junior World Golf Tournament, Junior America's Cup, and the Montana/Alberta Cup representing his home state of Montana.

In 2009, Mike graduated from the University of Idaho with a Bachelor of Science in Marketing with a Professional Golf Management Option. He also gained his PGA membership in 2009 and has worked as an Assistant PGA Professional at courses such as Forest Highlands Golf Club, Oakcreek Country Club, Moon Valley Country Club, and Firerock Country Club as well as instructor for the Outback Golf Academy.

Mike served as the Director of Instruction at Continental Country Club in Flagstaff (2015-2018). He was the Assistant Women’s Golf Coach at Northern Arizona University (2017-2018) and very involved in junior golf by coaching the Flagstaff High School Boys golf team as well as helping to develop the PGA Junior League program for Northern Arizona since 2015.

In 2018 Mike took a position with Golf Genius Software and moved with his wife to their ranch in Wyoming. While working as a PGA Customer Service Representative for Golf Genius, he has written and instructed many of the online classes and tutorials for their software. There are only a handful of people in the world that know the Golf Genius software as well as Mike.

Professionally, Mike has competed in notable events such as the 2012 PGA Championship at Kiawah Island Golf Resort, where Rory McIlroy won with an amazing 8 shot victory in extreme conditions. Mike also competed in the PGA Professional National Championship in 2012 through 2013 and the National PGA Assistant Championship in 2014.
