Thanks to some fantastic weather throughout our overseeding period and the outstanding efforts of our Grounds Team, the Vistas Course has come through overseed beautifully. Our crew once again did an exceptional job preparing the course for the busy season ahead, and we hope you've been enjoying the fresh playing conditions since reopening last Saturday.
We have several updates to share as we get back into the swing of things!
Vistas Cart Path Restrictions Lifted!
Effective today, cart path restrictions have been lifted on the Vistas Course!
First, a big thank you to everyone for following the cart path restrictions during our first week back. Your cooperation gave the young winter ryegrass the time it needed to establish itself and helped protect all the hard work that went into overseeding.

As we return to normal cart operations, please remember that the 90-degree rule remains in effect throughout the golf course. We ask everyone to:
-
Remain on the cart paths as much as possible.
-
When approaching your golf ball, enter the fairway at a 90-degree angle from the cart path, then return to the path using the same general route.
-
Minimize unnecessary driving on the grass, especially while the new turf continues to mature.
-
Continue to observe all directional signs, ropes, and designated no-cart areas.
A little extra care now goes a long way toward keeping our courses in excellent condition throughout the season!

Ever Wonder What Goes Into Overseeding?
Overseeding is quite a process, and there's much more to it than simply putting down grass seed!
Back in 2022, our Grounds Team put together a great video offering a behind-the-scenes look at the work involved in transforming our courses for the winter season.
If you've never seen it, or would simply like a refresher, take a few minutes to check it out!
Watch: Behind the Scenes of Our Overseeding Process

Our Director of Agronomy, David Escobedo has put together a video documenting the entire overseed process in 2022. The process takes about 5 weeks (3 weeks closed). This is one of the busiest times of year for the grounds crew. This entire process may seem very foreign to those coming from cooler climates, but here in the desert we regrow the golf course twice a year and in a very short timeframe.

Gold Tee Improvements Underway
You may have noticed a few closely mowed circles in some of our rough areas. These are part of an effort to explore improved locations for several of our Gold Tee markers.
Our goal is to identify teeing areas that offer flatter, more comfortable footing while also positioning them closer to cart paths and away from areas of heavy cart traffic.
Several of these locations have already been seeded, and we'll gradually begin moving Gold Tee markers into the new areas as the grass becomes sufficiently established.
These adjustments are part of our ongoing efforts to make the course more enjoyable, accessible, and easier to maintain. We look forward to seeing how these locations perform!

Vistas Hole #6 Temporary Tee
The Golf Club will be starting the construction of the well housing, allowing us to move forward with this important improvement sooner than originally anticipated.
To provide the construction team with the space needed to complete the work safely and efficiently, we will continue using the temporary teeing area on Hole #6 during construction, with completion currently anticipated sometime in December.
We understand that Members are looking forward to returning to the regular teeing area, and we appreciate your continued patience.

A Quick GHIN App Reminder
The USGA recently introduced a significant update to its GHIN mobile app, featuring a refreshed design and new features.
Some Members may find that their previously saved login information is no longer available following the update.
If you're having trouble signing in and don't remember your password, use the apps "Forgot Login Information" on the GHIN app login screen and follow the instructions to reset it.
For security reasons, the Golf Shop staff cannot view your existing GHIN password. However, we're always happy to assist with the password-reset process or help troubleshoot login difficulties.
