We want to make you aware of an unexpected equipment failure affecting the original Vistas well, not the new well currently under construction, and its potential impact on golf course conditions.

The existing Vistas well experienced an electrical failure last night that resulted in a motor fire. The initial assessment indicates that the motor seized, damaging several components within the electrical control panel. Empire Pump and its electrical team are working to assess the damage and determine the quickest path to restoring service.

At this time, we anticipate approximately one week without water from the Vistas well, although the timeline may change as the assessment progresses and replacement equipment availability is confirmed.

The Vistas Ponds serve as a reservoir for the golf course, providing approximately seven days of water storage. In the interim, our Agronomy team will carefully manage and ration available water to protect course conditions as much as possible. The cooler weather and rain in the forecast later this week are favorable factors as we work through this situation.

Our immediate priority is securing a replacement motor and restoring the well to operation. If the well is not operational by Monday, November 2, the Club will consider purchasing water from the City of Peoria to supplement our supply. Our Agronomy team will evaluate conditions and determine whether that step is necessary as we approach that date.

We recognize the importance of maintaining course conditions and understand that a disruption of this nature may have an impact. Please be assured that we are actively evaluating our options and taking steps to manage our available water while working toward the earliest possible restoration of service.
