Mother Nature has decided to play a Halloween trick on us this year, and unfortunately, it's not the kind that comes with candy! π
Today's Course Status β Saturday, October 31
π΄ LAKES COURSE β CLOSED (Range Included)
π’ VISTAS COURSE β OPEN (CART PATHS ONLY)
-
ALL carts must remain on cart paths, including those with handicap flags.
-
The Vistas Course experienced less flooding, and its overseeded turf is more mature.
-
The Vistas tee sheet is currently full. We have already accommodated as many members displaced from the Lakes Course as possible in available openings at the Vistas. Any additional openings resulting from cancellations will be reserved for members originally scheduled at the Lakes, with priority based on their original tee times. The golf shop will do call those we are able to move forward for confirmation.
π§οΈ WEATHER ALERT: Unfortunately, additional rain is forecast for this evening and much of Sunday. Further closures or restrictions may be necessary to protect the courses overseed. We will keep everyone informed.

Lakes Course β Protecting Our New Overseed
The Lakes Course was scheduled to make its much-anticipated return from overseed today. However, Mother Nature had other plans! The heavy rainfall has caused extensive flooding throughout the course, with several cart paths completely submerged and numerous areas of newly seeded turf underwater. The grounds crew has been pumping water all morning, but the surrounding area are too saturated to have play for such young grass. Some areas are looking more like a haunted lagoon than a golf course!
Our biggest concern is protecting the new grass. At just two and a half weeks old, the overseeded turf is still very young and vulnerable. The flooding has already created some scary challenges for these areas, and we will be working to help the turf recover before the colder winter temperatures slow its growth. Allowing golf cart or foot traffic through these saturated areas now could cause additional damage and make recovery even more difficult.
Our annual winter overseed is one of the largest and most important investments we make in our golf courses each season. It plays a significant role in providing the quality playing conditions our members expect throughout our busiest months. Protecting that investment now is essential to ensuring the best possible conditions for the season ahead.
We understand how disappointing another closure is, especially after patiently waiting for the Lakes Course to reopen. But as frightening as course looks today the thought of damaged turf haunting us throughout the winter season is even scarier!

Vistas Course β Open with Precautions
Fortunately, the Vistas Course fared much better through yesterday's storms. With considerably less flooding and overseeded grass that is more mature and established, we will be able to open the Vistas Course today under CART PATH ONLY restrictions.
This restriction applies to ALL golf carts, including those displaying handicap flags. All four tires must remain on the cart paths at all times.
While the Vistas grass is further along in its development, the ground is still extremely saturated, and we need everyone's cooperation to prevent unnecessary damage.
We already had a full tee sheet scheduled at the Vistas Course today. However, we have been able to accommodate some members displaced from the Lakes Course in available openings at the Vistas. Any additional openings resulting from cancellations will be reserved for members originally scheduled at the Lakes, with priority based on their original tee times. Our Golf Shop staff will continue monitoring cancellations throughout the day and will work to accommodate as many displaced members as possible. All reassigned tee times must be confirmed by the Golf Shop.

Looking Ahead β More Rain on the Way? π§οΈ
Unfortunately, Mother Nature may not be finished with her Halloween tricks just yet!
The forecast is calling for additional rain beginning this evening and continuing through much of Sunday. Depending on how much rain we receive, conditions could change quickly and may affect our ability to open either course tomorrow.
Our Grounds team will continue monitoring conditions and evaluating both courses. We will make every effort to resume normal operations as soon as conditions safely allow, while continuing to protect our newly overseeded turf.
We will keep everyone informed of any additional closures, restrictions, or changes to course availability.
Thank you for your patience, understanding, and continued support. We know everyone is anxious to get back out and enjoy both courses, and we share that excitement. Taking a little extra care now will help ensure we have great playing conditions throughout the winter season.
Here's hoping Mother Nature runs out of tricks and finally gives us a treat!Β
Happy Halloween!
