After several challenging days of rain, flooding, and course closures, we're happy to finally share some good news! Both golf courses will be open tomorrow, Wednesday, November 4!
We sincerely appreciate everyone's patience and understanding as our Grounds Crew has worked tirelessly to get both courses back into playing condition. We can now get carts through Holes 5 & 15 at the Lakes without a ferry! We know how eager everyone is to get back to golf, and we're just as excited to have both courses available again.
COURSE CONDITIONS – WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 4
LAKES COURSE – OPEN | CART PATHS ONLY
Due to the recent rainfall and newly established overseed, carts must remain on paths until conditions improve further. This restriction applies to all golfers, including those with handicap flags.
VISTAS COURSE – OPEN | 90-DEGREE RULE
The Vistas Course has dried sufficiently for us to lift the cart-path-only restriction. However, we ask everyone to exercise care and follow the 90-degree rule:
- Remain on the cart path until you are directly across from your golf ball.
- Enter the fairway at a 90-degree angle, drive to your ball, and return directly to the cart path.
- Please limit driving on the grass to only what is necessary and avoid any visibly wet or soft areas.
- Approved Handicap Flags from Admin Office are the only flags allowed. Handicap Flags must stay 10 yards (30 feet) from Tee-Boxes and Greens.

Your cooperation will help protect our courses as they continue recovering from the recent storms.
VISTAS TEE BOX UPDATE
We have experienced an unexpected delay in the construction of the new well structure near Hole #6. As a result, we will temporarily return the tee boxes to their original locations until construction can move forward.

|
Once we are able to continue, we will again move forward the tees while the construction work continues.
The USGA will begin updating the course ratings tomorrow to reflect the temporary configuration. Our Golf Shop staff has already made the necessary adjustments in Golf Genius to ensure member groups are assigned to the correct course.
IMPORTANT REMINDER – TEE TIME REQUESTS & GUEST NAMES
As we enter our busiest months, we want to remind everyone of the importance of providing accurate player counts and guest names when submitting tee time requests.
We are anticipating an exceptionally busy season, with both courses expected to have very full tee sheets.
Last winter, we were fortunate to experience unusually warm weather, which allowed us to begin tee times much earlier in the morning than we typically could. If we experience more traditional winter temperatures this season, frost delays and later morning starts could significantly reduce the number of available tee times.
With that in mind, we ask for everyone's help:
- Include guest names when submitting tee time requests rather than leaving unnamed placeholders.
- Request only the number of spots you actually expect to use.
- Notify the Golf Shop as soon as possible if your group size or player lineup changes.
|
|
As demand increases, groups with repeated unnamed placeholders or a pattern of arriving with fewer players than requested may receive lower priority during tee time placement.
Our goal is not to discourage anyone from bringing guests or enjoying golf with friends. Quite the opposite! We want to accommodate as many members and guests as possible while maintaining a fair and efficient tee time system.
Even small adjustments, such as providing accurate names and letting us know when a player cancels, can make a tremendous difference. The more accurate our tee sheet is before the day of play, the better our Golf Shop team can serve everyone.
THANK YOU, MEMBERS!
We truly appreciate your patience throughout the recent weather challenges, your cooperation with course restrictions, and your help as we head into our busiest time of year.
Most importantly, thank you for being part of Westbrook Golf Club. We're looking forward to a wonderful season filled with great golf, good friends, and hopefully a little less rain!
See you on the course!
