2020 Westbrook Invitational
Hosted by the University of Wisconsin

The Mississippi State Lady Bulldogs got their first victory since 2014. The 2020 Westbrook Spring Invitational saw many records including the sixth best team round in NCAA history with the Mississippi State's score of 270 (-18). Even with this amazing second round team score, they still found themseleves 5 shots behind Oklahoma University after the front nine of the final round.

Ashley Gilliam, Freshman, found four birdies her her first six holes of the back nine and Blair Stockett birdied four of her last four to give Mississippi State the one shot win over Oklahoma University. Oklahoma University won the 2018 Westbrook Spring Invitational and missed out by 1 shot in both 2019 and now 2020.

We had an amazing showing by these talented ladies. It was a nail bitter to the very end. Great Playing!

After tying an NCAA 18-hole record of 11-under (61) in the second round, Zanusso finished up her amazing play with a birdie on her 72nd hole to shoot a final round 70 and win the event by 3 shots over a three way tie for second place. Zanusso is only a freshman and led the individual field with 18 birdies in the tournament, 11 of which came in her record breaking second round 61.

Talk about a perfect round of golf. Anna Zanusso of Denver University carded eleven birdies and no bogies for a New Course Record at Westbrook Village Golf Club - Vistas Course. The prior course record of 62 was shot in 2018 by Kaitlin Milligan of Oklahoma University.

We have a very tight race for the individual honors between Anna Zanusso of Denver University and Kate Smith of Kansas State. If you want to see good golf, forget the TV and come out and see these amazing players for the final round tomorrow!

Eloise Healey of Wisconsin carded her first ever Hole-In-One on the Vistas Hole #4 during round 2 play. Congratulations Eloise!

Libby Winans of Oklahoma University had the lead through round 1 with an outstanding 64, which included six straight birdies. You read that right, six straight birdies on the back nine. Winans is currently tied for 4th with fellow teammate Ellen Secor at -7. The two have aided Oklahoma to the lead through two rounds at an astonishing -25. Way to go ladies, keep it going!

The 16-team field, plus individuals, will participate in a 54-hole invitational played on the par 72 Westbrook Village Golf Club - Vistas Course, playing at 6,269 yards.

Playing in threesomes, the teams will play 36-holes on Sunday with an 8:30 am shotgun and continuous play. Pairings for the final 18-holes on Monday will be determined by score. The low four individual scores will determine the team score for each round.
